Solo Exhibits
a painting of an island in the water

Artist Reception June 8th, 5-7pm Craig Mooney

Craig Mooney makes paintings of dramatic moments and heightened emotionality that are known for being expansive and expressive. Though a representational painter, the artist incorporates a myriad of abstract qualities throughout his paintings. His paintings appear to be capturing a moment suspended in time. While his work feels familiar, it is not specific. All paintings are the product of his imagination.

a painting of boats on a body of water

Artist Reception August 31, 5-7pm William B. Hoyt

There is a challenge and a joy in seeing something ineffably beautiful or moving and resolving to make a painting of it. The threads of the canvas, the sea, family, friends, and Maine have woven themselves inextricably into my psyche and my work.

a painting of a boat in the water

Artist Reception July 6th, 5-7pm Ellen Welch Granter

I love the possibilities of a few new tubes of paint, a handful of good brushes, a blank canvas, and the glimmer of what I hope might be a promising idea. Of course, then comes the hard work, all the decisions. Pale or dark? Thick or thin? Loose or tight? Flat or dimensional? Edges? Patterns? Lines? Textures? Shadows? Each painting is the accumulated result of a thousand decisions." This year, Granter's show will feature boats, buoys, and her beloved birds.

a painting of a beach and water

Artist Reception August 3rd, 5-7pm Margaret Gerding

he Burleigh Each piece is based on a real place, a moment that I have experienced and been inspired by. There is something unique about being alone with nature—a quiet that connects me like no other. It is only this solitude, whether outside or in the studio, that allows me to let the landscape reveal itself to me. Living in Kennebunkport, I am immersed daily in the area of my greatest inspiration.
